In Egypt, the Awqaf Ministry has initiated a nationwide campaign to clean and prepare mosques for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

AhlulBayt News Agency: In Egypt, the Awqaf Ministry has initiated a nationwide campaign to clean and prepare mosques for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative, supervised by Minister Usama Al-Sayyid Al-Azhari, aims to ensure mosques are ready to welcome worshippers throughout Ramadan.

The campaign encompasses comprehensive cleaning, maintenance, and development of mosques across various provinces, according to Elbalad.

Provincial Awqaf departments are actively participating, focusing on cleaning, carpeting, and decorating mosques to create a spiritual atmosphere for the holy month. Volunteers and mosque caretakers are also contributing, reflecting a strong sense of community collaboration.

The Ministry emphasized that efforts to maintain and develop mosques will continue beyond Ramadan, providing worshippers with a safe and spiritual environment year-round.

Worshippers are encouraged to help keep mosques clean and to participate in Ramadan programs, ensuring that mosques remain centers of guidance and tranquility.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is expected to begin on March 1, 2025, in Egypt, according to astronomical calculations by the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG). However, the final confirmation will be made by Dar El-Iftaa, Egypt's official body for issuing religious edicts.
