AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ibrahim Muhammed al-Deylami, the Yemeni ambassador to Iran, spoke at the international conference titled “The Yemeni Resistance and International Security: A Look at the Current Regional Situation,” held at the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
Pointing out Yemen’s history, he said, “To understand what is happening in Yemen, we need to consider its history, the sociological features of Yemeni society, and the trajectory of the Ansarullah movement. Martyr Hussain al-Houthi initiated a project in Yemen centered on a genuine return to the Holy Quran, not merely as a text for recitation but as a constitution to act upon.”
“Martyr Hussain al-Houthi, through the slogan of disavowal, confronted the U.S.-Zionist aggression against the children of the Islamic Ummah. He called for the boycott of American and Zionist goods. This martyr knew that Islam would be under attack today. The Quranic path he inaugurated was not a sectarian movement; it included both Zaydi Shia and Shafi’i Sunni Muslims,” he continued.
The Yemeni ambassador added, “To better understand Yemen’s contemporary developments, we must read Martyr Hussain al-Houthi’s speeches again, which were rooted in the Quran. The Quranic path he initiated aimed to awaken the Islamic Ummah.”
Referring to the current state of the Islamic Ummah, he said, “For the Ummah to emerge from its current situation, it must feel both the threat and the responsibility. The enemy uses all its resources in its war against the Islamic Ummah.”
“Those who should be in the Resistance Axis today are instead part of the normalization axis with the Zionist enemy. Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was a real test for the Resistance Axis to act upon its slogans. The Resistance Axis is not merely a title but a path, and we must make greater efforts to expand it and include more groups within it,” Al-Deylami continued.
“We should not perceive the Sunni Arab world as distant from resistance. Although some groups within the Arab world might exhibit such tendencies, Muslims as a whole do not believe they are disconnected from resistance,” he further stated.
Referring to developments in Syria, the Yemeni ambassador said, “Regarding the recent events, we must assess what mistakes were made and work to correct them.”
“The Arab countries that have fallen into the Zionist trap are endangering their own security. The security concept, in its broader sense, belongs to those who tread the divine path. It should not encompass the Zionist regime and the forces of global arrogance. This issue must be addressed,” he remarked.
Ibrahim al-Deylami emphasized, “Some argue that adhering to resistance has its costs, but I say that failing to adhere to resistance has far more severe consequences. A life of dignity is far better than living under the domination of the U.S. and the Zionist regime. The Assad government, when it thought it could find prosperity by aligning with Saudi Arabia and the UAE while distancing itself from Iran, made a grave mistake, and we are now witnessing the outcome of such an approach in Syria.”
