Kabul Friday Prayer Imam: God despises lazy and useless person

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Abdul Qadeer Alami, the Imam of Friday prayers in West Kabul, spoke in this week's Friday sermon about the importance of focusing on economic issues and working to combat poverty.

He began by stating that the most crucial factor for success, prosperity, and development in all aspects of life is a strong and sound economy.

When the economy of an individual, family, or society weakens, it leads to confusion and insecurity in life, and it also affects the beliefs, morality, and religiousness of that individual, family, and society.

He quoted a hadith in which Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Poverty almost leads to disbelief."

Alami further explained that Islam places significant emphasis on economic issues. In the Qur'an, there are over 450 verses related to economic matters. Similarly, there are thousands of hadiths in Islamic literature that deal with economic issues.

He pointed out that in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), there are 72 different chapters, many of which, such as "Baih" (buying and selling), "Rahen" (mortgage) "Ijara" (rent) and "Wasiyat" (will) deal with economic matters. This is evidence of the great importance Islam places on the economy and economic issues.

Alami also mentioned a hadith from Imam Ali (A.S), who said that the foundation of both religion and the world is the economy.

He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the government to create opportunities for work and economic development for the people.

Alami raised the question: If we are poor, what is the reason for it? Why do we not have employment opportunities? Why do our youth wander in search of work in other countries? Why are there no job opportunities in our own country?

He also explained that the primary indicator of a country's progress and development is its economy.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of governments to improve the economic condition of the people, in addition to ensuring security, justice, and political stability.

He mentioned that all the Prophets and righteous servants of God contributed to the development of their societies, and none of them was without a profession or job.

The Prophets engaged in various professions, such as blacksmithing, carpentry, tailoring, shepherding, and fishing.

Alami referenced the teachings of Imam Musa Kazim (A.S), who showed a keen interest in work from a young age. In one hadith, Imam Kazim (A.S) said, "God despises the lazy and useless person."
