Three Lebanese civilians killed, 4 injures in fresh Israel's ceasefire violation

An Israeli drone attack on a civilian vehicle in southern Lebanon has claimed the lives of three Lebanese civilians and injured at least four others, in yet another breach of a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the regime.

AhlulBayt News Agency: An Israeli drone attack on a civilian vehicle in southern Lebanon has claimed the lives of three Lebanese civilians and injured at least four others, in yet another breach of a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the regime.

According to Lebanese media reports, the aggression targeted the vehicle on the Jarjouh road in the Iqlim al-Tuffah area on Saturday.

The “precision-guided missile” fired by the aircraft caused an explosion that also injured four women traveling in a nearby vehicle, the reports added.

"This is a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement and a continuation of Israel's systematic targeting of civilians," a Lebanese security source told the country’s al-Manar television network. "The victims were ordinary citizens, not fighters."

The regime claimed the assault had targeted a senior commander of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, an allegation denied by local sources who confirmed that none of the victims were the movement’s fighters.

This latest act of aggression adds to a litany of Israeli violations since the ceasefire came into effect in November 2024, following more than a year of escalated Israeli aggression against the country that killed more than 3,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and leaders such as the movement’s revered former secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The agreement mandated the Israeli military's withdrawal from southern Lebanon within 60 days, a deadline extended to February 18 due to the regime's non-compliance.

Hezbollah, whose incessant and successful retaliatory strikes during the one-year-plus-long escalation forced the regime into approving the ceasefire accord, has vowed to defend the Lebanese sovereignty against further aggression, and warned that Tel Aviv's continued violations would be met with appropriate response.

The deadly drone strike followed a protest by Lebanese people in the capital Beirut against Israeli contraventions of the agreement.

Addressing the rally that had been invited by Hezbollah, Mahmoud Qamati, Deputy Head of the movement's Political Council, said, "The resistance will continue to pursue the withdrawal of the enemy from southern Lebanon and will not accept any official stance that extends the enemy’s presence on our land.”
