AhlulBayt News Agency: Zahra Hammoud, head of education and sciences at Al-Mustafa (A.S.) Schools in Lebanon, explained the message behind the funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the late Leader of the Resistance.
She stated that this grand and historic funeral proves that Hezbollah is a legitimate and lawful Lebanese political party, not a militia. Because no militia can command such a massive following and public support.
The funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will take place today, February 23, in the southern suburbs of Beirut (Dahiya) in a grand ceremony. This is a promise that Hezbollah made in the early days of his martyrdom to the Lebanese people and his admirers worldwide so that they could honor the great martyrs of Hezbollah—Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safi al-Din.
In recent days, many Lebanese expatriates have traveled from different countries to Lebanon despite obstacles and difficulties to participate in Sayyed al-Muqawama’s funeral and reaffirm their loyalty and commitment to his cause.
The Greatness of Martyrdom and the Significance of the Funeral
Zahra Hammoud, speaking about the importance of the funeral of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Martyr Safiuddin, said:
"This funeral sends a clear message to the world that these two great leaders were true Lebanese patriots who sacrificed their lives for their country."
She continued:
This funeral stands as a barrier in front of every enemy and opponent, forcing them to stop and acknowledge the truth. It proves that this resistance is authentic and legitimate. It also reinforces the fact that Islamic resistance is from the people, not against the people. The resistance of Hezbollah originates from the very fabric of Lebanese society."
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah: A Unique and Unrepeatable Leader
Explaining the reasons behind the significance of this grand funeral, she said:
- Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was a great, extraordinary, and unique leader—one who will never be replaced.
- This event highlights the fact that Sayyed al-Muqawama (Hassan Nasrallah) was a lawful and national figure, not a terrorist or militia leader.
Hezbollah: A People's Party, Not a Militia
The Lebanese scholar emphasized that this historic funeral proves that Hezbollah is a legitimate and recognized Lebanese political party, not a militia.
She said: "No militia can gain such massive public support and backing."
Message to Supporters and Enemies of the Resistance
She further explained that this grand funeral carries a message that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was not just a Lebanese leader but a regional and global political figure.
She added that this event is not just a message for Israel, but also for the United States.
"Because Israel cannot exist without the United States. This funeral is a message to the U.S. in all its power and might—that the funeral of our leader will remain eternal in history. The old and the young will remember it, and it will stand as a symbol of resistance for generations to come."
We Are Here, Strong and Unshakable
In conclusion, she addressed both friends and foes of the resistance, stating:
"Through this symbolic funeral, we are telling our friends that we are here, strong, united, and deeply rooted in this land."
And for the enemies, she warned: "We are the rightful inhabitants of this land, and the people of this region support the resistance. This powerful message makes it clear to our weak, fearful, and collapsing enemies that they are on the path to defeat."
