AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The President described Iran and Turkey as two powerful countries in the region and the World of Islam, and stressed, "Tehran and Ankara have an important role in resolving regional issues and problems and can cooperate in this regard through consultation".
Speaking on Wednesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by telephone, Dr Hassan Rouhani congratulated the government and people of Turkey on Eid al-Adha, and said, "Fortunately, today in all areas of bilateral relations, including economic , political, cultural and international fields, there are continuous and good relations between the two neighbouring countries".
Emphasising the need to continue this cooperation in the future, as well as the development and deepening of bilateral relations, Dr Rouhani said, "Iran and Turkey have a responsible and cooperative approach in various global and regional issues and issues affecting the World of Islam, which has helped solve the region's problems through dialogue and negotiation".
In this phone call, the President of Turkey congratulated the government and people of Iran on Eid al-Adha, and described the relations between the two countries as close and developing, stressing the need for continued cooperation between the two countries in the future.
He said, "Turkey and Iran have common stances and cooperation on important regional and international issues".
Recep Tayyip Erdogan appreciated the efforts of Dr Rouhani to develop and deepen strategic relations and cooperation between the two countries in the past 8 years and emphasised the continuation of this cooperation and the growing trend of relations in the future.
Referring to the special situation in the region and Iran's important position and role in helping to resolve important regional issues, the Turkish President stressed the need for cooperation between the countries of the region to resolve crises, including the crises in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan".
