Ayatollah Raisi: PMF a great support for security, progress in Iraq

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Speaking in a meeting with the Chairman of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) of Iraq Falih Alfayyadh on Friday evening, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi praised the valuable role of the mobilisation forces in the cohesion and unity of the country and defending the people against terrorist groups, adding, "The initiative of the maraji and the people in forming the popular mobilisation forces was a smart move that have had –and will have- many blessings for the country and the Iraqi people”.

The President said, "The popular mobilisation is a great support for the development and progress of Iraq and defending the people against the conspiracies and plots of foreigners, just as what Imam Khomeini (RA) did in Iran by forming the Organisation for Mobilisation of the Oppressed”.

Dr Raisi also commemorated the martyrs Haj Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, saying, "Thanks to the blood of these martyrs and other martyrs of the resistance, the relations between the two nations will be deeper and stronger".

At the same meeting, the Chairman of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) of Iraq Falih Alfayyadh also congratulated Ayatollah Raisi on his election, referring to the impact of Haj Qasem Soleimani's courage and pure blood on the deep bond between the two nations of Iran and Iraq.

He said, "The people of Iraq respect the dear Haj Qasem, and he has become a symbol of the heartfelt relationship between the two nations”.
