AhlulBayt (a.s.) School, an Inspiration for Resistance in the Contemporary Era: IRIB’s head

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The second international gathering of “AhlulBayt (a.s.) Media Narrators” was held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, with the participation of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and Dr. Peyman Jebeli, the head of IRIB, at the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Qom.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Jebeli said, “We are currently at the heart of two important historical events: one is a contemporary event, the decisive and glorious victory of the Resistance in Palestine and Lebanon, and the other is the anniversary of the victory of the great Islamic Revolution of Iran, which inspired revolutionary movements and resistance in the region and the world. This anniversary shaped the widespread front of the Islamic Revolution in the world, and we take these two significant occasions as good signs.”

“After the humiliating retreat of the Israeli army from southern Lebanon in 2000, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah made an important statement. He said that the era of defeats is over, and the era of victories has begun. We have left behind the historical humiliations and the subjugation of nations through the occupation of invaders. Today, the beautiful image of the humiliation of the Merkava tanks in southern Lebanon, defeated by the brave Lebanese men and women, stands as proof of this statement,” he added.

The head of IRIB continued, “The Palestinian fighters endured over 470 days under the enemy’s fire, and four nuclear bombs worth of bombs were dropped on Gaza, but the people remained steadfast in support of the resistance. This led to a great victory, humiliating the Israeli regime and marking a victory for the people of Gaza.”

He further stated, “These two great victories demonstrate the popular nature of the resistance. We are the narrators of this victory, and with our heads held high, we say to the world that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) School has been the inspiration for resistance in the contemporary era, and this school has stood firm in defense of Palestine. It was the Lebanese Islamic Resistance fighters who sacrificed their lives defending Bayt al-Maqdis, and it was the Yemeni Resistance fighters who responded to the Zionist regime until the very last day of the Gaza war. It was the Islamic Republic of Iran, which, in two stages with the True Promise Operations, humiliated the Zionist regime and offered steadfast support to the Resistance.”

Dr. Jebeli emphasized, “What we need to spread in the world is Resistance and its vitality. Shiites and Sunnis alike shed their blood in defense of the Ummah’s cause.”

The head of IRIB also pointed out, “The impact that the actions of AhlulBayt (a.s.) media activists have on shaping public opinion worldwide cannot be compared to any traditional media. During the Gaza war, every citizen in Gaza became a journalist, and every Hamas resistance group that entered the battlefield had a media representative with them. The use of social networks and turning citizens into media-citizens influenced the international media landscape, causing it to be shaped by the enlightenment efforts of media activists in Gaza.”

In another part of his speech, Dr. Jebeli addressed the AhlulBayt (a.s.) media narrators, saying, “Today, each of you can be an awakener on the international stage. We, too, at IRIB, utilize multiple platforms in managing public opinion on the international stage, and these platforms provide the best means to engage with younger generations.”

He referred to the recent message of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution to the Media Transformation Horizon Conference, stating, “He emphasized that the enemy is trying to show its weaknesses as strengths. Our duty is to expose the enemy’s weaknesses. We see the manifestations of the enemy’s weakness. Another responsibility is to stabilize our strengths. Despite the tactical setbacks in the war, including the loss of Resistance leaders and commanders, the ultimate winner of the war has been the Resistance and Hezbollah. We must recognize the enemy’s weaknesses and clearly articulate our strengths.”

At the end of his speech, the head of IRIB stated, “I am proud to be here among the media army of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) School and the Islamic world. We must complement each other, and the use of new media and social network platforms can enhance the synergy with media outlets such as IRIB.”
