“The Funeral Procession of the Leader of Resistance Is a Manifestation of Hezbollah’s Power”

In an interview with ABNA, a Lebanese media activist, emphasized the strategic and historical significance of the funeral procession of Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A Lebanese media activist, in an interview with ABNA, stated that the funeral procession of the Leader of the Resistance will be a manifestation of Hezbollah’s power.

The funeral procession of Hezbollah’s martyrs, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine holds great significance in the current context of Lebanon and the region from various perspectives. Experts on Lebanese affairs describe this event as a referendum for both supporters and opponents of the Resistance in Lebanon. For this reason, all figures associated with the Resistance have called on the Lebanese people to participate in this grand ceremony, with the slogan “إنا علی العهد” (We adhere to our pledge) being designated as the official motto of the event.

Reyhaneh Murtada, a Lebanese media activist, discussed the importance of the Lebanese people’s strong presence in the funeral procession of the martyrs Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Safieddine in an interview with ABNA News Agency.

Regarding the strategic and historical significance of the funeral procession, she stated, “Sayed Hassan was a historic and transnational figure who did not belong solely to the Shiite community of Lebanon. He belonged to all of Lebanon, regardless of sect, and to all the free people of the world. This event is not merely the funeral procession of a mujahid warrior, a powerful commander, or just the Secretary-General of Hezbollah. Rather, it is a means of demonstrating the authority and strength of the movement. This is happening despite the martyrdom of its Secretary-General, yet the movement remains steadfast. Hezbollah is fully capable of carrying out all its jihadist, political, and social missions.”

She added, “So far, officials and guests from approximately 79 countries have announced their participation in this event. This indicates that Martyr Nasrallah was an influential figure on the international stage and that his resistance was a justice-based struggle against the enemy’s aggressions.”

Speaking on the international significance of this event, Reyhaneh Murtada stated, “This ceremony serves as a resounding slap to the enemies of the Resistance, particularly the United States and the Zionist regime. Just one day after the ceasefire was announced between Hezbollah and the regime, the U.S. ambassador in Lebanon declared, ‘Hezbollah is finished!’ However, this funeral procession will prove that Hezbollah remains powerful.”

The Lebanese media activist further noted, “Hezbollah’s strength does not diminish with the martyrdom of its Secretary-General. Previously, Sayed Abbas Mousavi, the former Secretary-General of the movement, was also assassinated by the Zionists. That assassination occurred when Hezbollah was still in its early years of formation and uprising. However, today, Hezbollah has been thriving for years and has been built on solid foundations. In reality, Hezbollah cannot be eliminated because it has risen from among the noble people of Lebanon. As long as the honorable and resistant people of Lebanon exist, this movement will continue to stand.”

Regarding the necessity of holding the funeral procession in the most magnificent manner possible, she stated, “This ceremony must be held with the utmost magnificence because a figure like Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, who dedicated his entire blessed life to serving the resilient people of Lebanon, the Resistance Front, and Palestine, deserves to be honored by all the free people of the world. No matter how meticulously the funeral procession is organized, Lebanon, being a small country in terms of land area, cannot accommodate all the supporters and enthusiasts of this beloved martyr.”

Speaking about the message of this historic event to both the supporters and enemies of the Resistance Front, Reyhaneh Murtada said, “This ceremony carries multiple messages. The message to the supporters of the Resistance is that the Resistance remains powerful and fully prepared to confront any enemy aggression. This event also highlights the efficiency of Hezbollah’s various institutions, especially its media wing. Despite the heavy blow caused by the martyrdom of Sayed Hassan and other Resistance commanders, these institutions continue their work with unwavering determination and an even greater sense of commitment to fulfill their duty toward this great man.”

Regarding the message of the funeral procession to Hezbollah’s enemies, she stated, “To the enemies who deluded themselves into thinking that by assassinating Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, the Resistance would be eliminated, this ceremony sends a clear response: The Lebanese resilient people will continue this path with even greater resolve and steadfastness. The legacy of Resistance that Sayed Hassan Nasrallah cultivated within us over the past 30 years, for which he worked tirelessly to ensure that the flag of Resistance remains raised across the world, will not fade. In return for the sacrifices of this great man, we remain firmly committed to this pledge and will continue this path, declaring: ‘We adhere to this pledge’.”
