Hussein Qaidi, Director of Yazidi Abductees Affairs in Duhok, said that they had expected hundreds of Yezidi abductees to be found and freed from the grip of ISIS by the end of Mosul operation, but the wish was not fulfilled.
Qaidi believes that most of the abductees have been moved to Syria through the western areas of Mosul which are still under the control of ISIS.
After overrunning Sinjar and its surrounding areas, the ISIS insurgents killed thousands of Kurdish Yazidi men in mid 2014 and abducted over 6,000 women, children and elderly men.
According to Kurdistan Regional Government figures, over 3,000 of them are yet to be rescued whereas those freed are suffering from psychological and physical traumas.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The ISIS is believed to have moved the Kurdish Yazidi abductees from Mosul to its-held areas in neighbouring Syria as the Iraqi city is almost fully liberated and yet thousands of Yazidis remain with obscure fate, a Kurdish official said.
