Imam Khamenei's US warnings reverberated across world media

Imam Khamenei during his address warned against 'any wrong move' regarding Iran nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying any such a move 'will be met with Iran’s reaction'.

Russia Today, Russia's English television channel, citing Imam Khamenei, wrote on its website that, 'Iran will react strongly to any wrong move which threatens to undermine the JCPOA.'

'On Thursday, the US Treasury Department imposed financial penalties against 11 individuals and companies accused of aiding Iran’s nuclear activities. The UN watchdog monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities recently confirmed the country is fully complying with the accord,' Russia Today added.

Russia's Sputnik news agency, on the other hand, wrote, '[Ayatollah] Khamenei said that the Iranian nation 'stands firmly on its own feet' and is capable of responding to hostile actions of any state,' referring to the speech made by Iran's Leader at the graduation ceremony at the Iran's Police Academy.

Chinese media also reflected the warning by Iran's leader against the United States and the new administration in the country, which have threatened to kill the landmark international agreement.

Xinhua news agency, for instance, referred to the warning by Ayatollah Khamenei, and wrote that, 'Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday warned against any 'wrong' move by the United States which might violate the deal.'

'They (the US administration) have shown wickedness and malicious behavior with regard to the JCPOA (nuclear deal). The country's officials reached the conclusion that they should negotiate and ignore some of their rights so that sanctions would be removed,' Xinhua said, quoting Ayatollah Khamenei.

'However, today, we see that despite all agreements and promises and many discussions during the negotiations, the United States treats these negotiations and their outcome in a totally oppressive and bullying manner,' the Chinese news agency wrote, citing the Iranian Supreme Leader.

Global Times, an English-language Chinese newspaper under the People's Daily, also quoting Ayatollah Khamenei, wrote that, 'Iran will not be bullied by the United States and will react strongly to any 'wrong move' by Washington on Tehran's nuclear deal.'

'The Iranian nation is standing firm and any wrong move by the domineering regime regarding the (nuclear accord) will face the reaction of the Islamic Republic,' Global Times said, further quoting the Iranian Leader.

China Daily wrote that other countries involved in the nuclear deal shouldn’t let US President Donald Trump to ignore the JCPOA.

Ignoring the international agreement 'sends out a bad message to the world', the daily wrote.

Italian news agency, ANSA, also reflected Ayatollah Khamenei's warnings against the US withdrawal of the nuclear deal.

Iran's leader said that his country will take reactions if there is any wrong move against the JCPOA, ANSA reported, adding that comments by the Iranian Leader came just one day before the meeting between US President Donald Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expected to take place on Monday.

The Globalist and MeteoWeb were among other Italian media outlets covering the story. MeteoWeb quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as naming the US 'one of the most evil devils'.

Turkey's Akşam cited Ayatollah Khamenei as saying Iran will take effective reactions in response to any US' wrong move against the JCPOA.

Turkey's Haber7, on its website, quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying, 'We’re seeing that despite all of the arrangements and promises and lengthy discussions at the talks, the United States has adopted an extremely harsh, bullying and hectoring approach.'

The Turkish media said that comments by Ayatollah Khamenei came while Trump accused Iran of violating the spirit of the 2015 nuclear deal.

The speech by the Iranian Leader was in response to the accusations made by the US president, it said.

Media in the Arab World, including the Iraqi Alsumeria, Alghadeer, Afaq, Aletejah TV channels, also covered the speech by the Iranian Leader and his warnings against Washington.

Some Iraqi news outlets even used the title 'Imam' for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, choosing headlines like: 'Response of Imam Kamaenei to US' to cover his speech.

Egyptian media, such as Al-Masry Al-Youm, Youm7, Al-Bawaba News, and Al-Hilal, also reported the news.

Lebanese Al Mayadeen Television channel broadcast part of Ayatollah Khamenei's Sunday speech, as well. NBN and Al Manar TV channels, and Al-Ahed News and Annahar Arabic-language daily on their websites also covered the speech.

The Greek media outlets, including Kathimerini, offered their readers main highlights of Imam Khamenei's speech.
