AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Palestinian prisoner Anas Shadid, 21, continues his open hunger strike in rejection of his administration detention - being imprisoned by Israel without charge or trial - for the 17th day in a row.
Shadid's lawyer from the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that the hunger striker, who is currently held in the solitary confinement of the HaDarim prison, suffers from severe headaches, continuous dizziness and weakness in his body.
PPS added that Shadid has lost at least 10 kilograms of his body weight since he started his strike on July 18th.
Shadid relies in his strike on water only as he refuses to take vitamins or medical tests.
The Israeli authorities had re-detained Shadid on June 22nd and issued three consecutive administrative detention orders against him.
This is Shadid's third hunger strike in two years; in 2016, Shadid had gone on a 90-day hunger strike protesting being held under administrative detention.
Four other prisoners are also currently on a hunger strike; Bassem Obeido, Dirar Abu Munshar, Muhammad al-Rimawi and journalist Alaa al-Rimawi.
