Algiers Grand Mosque opens Quran memorization, recitation classes for holy month of Ramadan

The administration of the Algiers Grand Mosque has announced the launch of preliminary registration for Quran memorization and recitation classes, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan and celebrating the mosque's first anniversary.

In an official statement, the administration invited those interested in memorizing and reciting the Quran to register in person with designated imams and female instructors throughout the week, except Fridays, Algerian news outlets reported.

According to the statement, preliminary registration for Quranic learning sessions will be open from Saturday, February 15, 2025, until February 28, 2025.

The administration also provided the attendance schedule for participants, with males (all ages) after Asr prayer, in the men's prayer hall, and females (all ages) After Dhuhr prayer, in the women's prayer hall.

The Algiers Grand Mosque was inaugurated a year ago by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the presence of scholars, imams, and sheikhs from across the Islamic world.

During the mosque's first anniversary celebration on February 13, 2025, the Dean of the Algiers Grand Mosque, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Mamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani said: "Since its inauguration, this landmark has instilled in the nation the values of pride and dignity.”

The Algiers Grand Mosque houses the National Higher School of Islamic Sciences, known as "Dar Al-Quran," which offers 1,500 seats for postgraduate students from Algeria and abroad, specializing in Islamic and human sciences.
