AhlulBayt News Agency: Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbala’i, the representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Karbala, has commended efforts to compile the Quranic Encyclopedia on AhlulBayt, describing it as a unique scholarly achievement.
During a meeting on Monday, Sheikh Khayr al-Din Ali al-Hadi, head of the Dar al-Quran Center at the Imam Hussein (AS) Shrine, led a delegation to discuss the ongoing distribution of the encyclopedia.
Sheikh al-Karbala’i expressed appreciation for the 14 years of dedicated research and compilation that have gone into producing the 60-volume work.
“This encyclopedia is a one-of-a-kind Quranic achievement,” he said, acknowledging the extensive efforts made from 2011 to 2025.
The visit aimed to secure support for wider dissemination of the encyclopedia. Speaking about its significance, Sheikh al-Hadi stated, “Great efforts will be made in the distribution phase to introduce this work to academic and scholarly circles. It represents a turning point in Islamic religious literature.”
He added that the encyclopedia is “an unprecedented achievement, grounded in academic authenticity and meticulous documentation,” making it a vital reference for researchers and those interested in Quranic studies and Islamic teachings.
The encyclopedia was unveiled recently as part of the World Quran Day, coinciding with the Sixth International Imam Hussein (AS) Conference in Karbala.
Developed with the collaboration of multiple scholarly and advisory committees, the work contains over 35,000 Quranic texts and offers interpretations and analysis based on the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
