AhlulBayt News Agency: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi has stated that the situation in Kurram is worsening instead of improving with each passing day. Despite agreements in Jirgas (traditional gatherings), the attacks on relief convoys are highly concerning. The roads have been blocked for four months, creating a severe humanitarian crisis.
He said that initially, this was only a land and tribal dispute, but now it is being labeled as a sectarian conflict. If that is the case, then solutions must also be proposed accordingly. In addition to measures such as placing bounties on terrorists, the services of those scholars and elders who have always promoted unity and harmony should also be utilized. This will help end conflict and unrest, paving the way for lasting peace.
He made these remarks while commenting on the latest developments in Kurram, the statement of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the decisions of the provincial government.
Allama Sajid Naqvi emphasized that, along with the provincial government’s actions, such as setting bounties on terrorists and labeling the dispute as sectarian, efforts should also be made for a permanent solution. Relying solely on military and administrative measures will not be enough; social and religious initiatives are equally necessary.
He stressed the need to engage with those scholars and elders who have always upheld the message of peace and unity to resolve sectarian issues. He suggested that alongside government efforts, the public and influential figures from various religious sects should also collaborate to establish lasting peace in Kurram.
Lastly, Allama Sajid Naqvi responded to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s remarks on foreign investment, stating that it is the responsibility of the federal government to regulate and take strong measures against it.
