AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that those who fail to condemn the massacre of thousands of innocent people in the Gaza Strip position themselves to be defenders of human rights while simultaneously accusing Iran of disrespecting the rights.
President Pezeshkian made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the 30th Razi Medical Sciences Research and Technology Festival in Tehran on Monday.
Unfortunately, those who disrupt the region and easily bomb innocent people, burying them under piles of rubble, claim to defend human rights while accusing us of violations; these are the same individuals who have massacred over 18,000 children and around 10,000 innocent and defenseless women in Gaza, Pezeshkian said.
The president noted that such atrocities go unprotested, yet Iran is accused of human rights violations. He said that while there are indeed problems in the country, one must ask which nation is without issues.
He said that the Islamic Republic does not seek war; rather, it desires peace and tranquility.
On the adversaries’ exploitation of internal discord, he warned that differences and conflicts only serve enemies; thus, fostering unity is essential to enhancing Iran’s strength.
The president emphasized that with the support of the people and the guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the government can overcome all challenges.
Further in his remarks, President Pezeshkian emphasized that the almighty God has not placed limits on humans’ growth, asserting that knowledge empowers individuals to change and improve themselves.
He highlighted the importance of applying expertise to address societal challenges. The president also referred to scientists who leave their home countries to assist those in need in deprived areas of Africa, stating that such individuals can help create a brighter and more informed world.
